I've been contemplating a two tone tak board for some time and I think I knocked it out of the park with this one. The rich red of the padauk is the perfect partner for the ebony and black wood. I alternated the grain direction for the center 9 squares creating a classic checker board pattern. The rest of the board is wrapped in mitered padauk and ebony. The squares are 1 and a half inches and the board is 9 and 5 eighths inches square. The box measures 11 inches square and is felted in black. The set is finished in semi gloss lacquer and wet sanded to perfection. There are 60 flat stones and 2 capstones made with padauk and African blackwood.
