Another beautiful box from the shop. I used a lot of left over walnut from other projects to make this box. I glued up strips of black walnut, english walnut, claro walnut,and some walnut sapwood to create the top and sides. If you look close on the top especially you'll notice a wide array of brown colors. I separated the walnut strips with a strip of ebony that adds a striking contrast. The box is basically a walnut mutt. The drawer pulls add a touch of elegance and beauty.The drawers are flocked with dark pink fibers and are securely in place. I finished the box in gloss lacquer and wet sanded to obtain a smooth surface. The box measures 9 and 3 quarter inches tall x 11 and a half inches wide x 5 and a half inches deep, and weighs 7 pounds.
