Seldom do I come across some maple that exhibits several characteristics of the species.When i saw this piece i just had to have it to work with.I wrapped maple around an inner core of plywood insuring decades of stability. The maple used for this box is amazing and the design of the piece is aesthetically pleasing. The curve of the box is elegant and graceful and the size of the box is perfect for storage of jewelry or trinkets. The unit can also stand on its own as a decorative piece of accent furniture that could be used anywhere.The drawers are flocked in brown and I topcoated the piece with 5 coats of satin polyurethane. The box was then wet sanded with 800 grit sandpaper and orange oil giving the piece a smooth and durable finish. The box measures 10 inches tall x 8 and a half inches wide x 5 inches deep.

I had been looking for the perfect jewelry box for my husband for over a year without any luck, until I came upon Joe’s shop! I told Joe a little bit about my hubby. A great guy to work with 😊 Joe’s special attention to wrapping his boxes to ensure its safe arrival was much appreciated and such a nice added touch. Joe’s craftsmanship on his woodwork is amazing!
